Introduction

The following will provide a practical view of how nGAP can assist Federal Government Buyers find the exact information on vendors and items needed to fill a requirement.

For purposes of this discussion we can define the role of Federal Government Buyers as individuals who manage projects or are responsible for initiating certain of their organization???s purchases.?? Buyers will know and generally best be able to evaluate the precise requirement, which can then be forwarded to a Contracting Officer to complete the acquisition in accordance with acquisition guidelines.

nGAP Gateway is a procurement solution that enables Buyers to locate not only simple goods, but also highly customized services and solutions.?? The Gateway adds value by enabling vendor members to attach details on goods and services, prices, and prior evaluations and testimonials to contracts listed in Gateway searches of FPDS data.

The interaction of information in the Gateway enables Buyers to fill a requirement by accessing data to the CLIN or catalog item level.?? (NOTE: some functionality is in current development.)
